Reporting to the National Tunnel Group Lead and Australian Technical Director – Tunnels, we are seeking a Senior Tunnel Design Engineer for tunnelling projects in Australia and international.
The responsibilities for this role comprise:
Planning and execution of tunnel, geotechnical and structural designs, including planning studies and detailed design Providing in-depth knowledge and expertise in geotechnical/structural/tunnelling areas Ensuring that design solutions meet the appropriate technical standards Ensuring that appropriate technical standards, QA, EMS and OH&S requirements are maintained on projects Delivering projects on time and to the standard required by the client Actively seeking and promoting client feedback on each client’s project Preparing of and assisting with tender proposals Mentoring of junior engineers in detailed design and other tasksThe ideal candidate has:
A Bachelors (or higher) Degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on tunnels and/or underground structures A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in tunnel/underground structures design A strong aptitude for structural and/or geotechnical calculation and a keen interest in modelling Proficiency in geotechnical/structural FEM software packages such as Plaxis (3D), RS2/RS3, FLAC (3D), Strand7 or Midas A positive attitude and is keen to learn, grow and teachWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
