1.4. Key Working Relationship

Technical/ Certification Team Deputy VOC Technical Manager Customers / Clients / Project Management Consultants VOC Issuing Office / Technical Manager, VOC Technical Advisers He is expected to establish direct contact with Client and whenever necessary with other Bureau Veritas organization.

1.5. Functions

To handle Technical matters of VoC & processes related to applicable certification schemes.

1.6. Managing

Verification of VOC Technical aspects/applicable certification requirements.


2. Minimum Required Qualifications


2.1. Knowledge Skills and Experience

Excellent PC skills. English proficiency, Communication skills. Satisfactory knowledge of Export / Import procedures, Cargo Inspection procedure. Knowledge of types of discrepancies (detected during document review, inspection and/or testing)

2.2. Education

Higher education Certificate (With Science) or degree level in Engineering or standards background./ Degree / Diploma in any Engineering stream

2.3. Training

Satisfactory knowledge about product conformity assessment procedures or at least BV VOC procedures. Satisfactory knowledge about applicable accreditation standard requirements (ISO 17020, 17065….etc) & applicable certification schemes.

2.4. Technical knowledge

Knowledge of standards according to which certifications are granted. Technical knowledge of products for which certifications are granted.

2.5. Experience

Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in similar field


3. Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities

3.1. Primary Functions

To verify conformity documents of the files allocated to him/her, as per the applicable standards, applicable certification scheme, related VoC procedures and country regulations. Checking of inspection reports for the files allocated to him/her, mainly for VoC Technical aspects & report inspector’s performance with regards to quality and accuracy. Authorized to manage product certification process requirements of relevant certification scheme. Acquisition and maintenance of a good knowledge of the VoC market & relevant certification schemes. Contribute to the overall technical development of VoC. Coordination between the Inspection Activities and Technical/ Commercial activities. Coordination between LOs/PICs and Dubai Regional Centre for VOC activities, as applicable. Guide clients on VoC Technical concerns & relevant certification scheme requirements, as and when required. Share good practices/execute good co-ordination (as applicable) between BV technical services and the customers. Continuous acquisition and maintenance of technical knowledge of the VOC procedures, requirements and standards. To consult BV’s internal knowledge management tool for update of VOC procedures/relevant information. Proposal of improvements to N+1 in daily tasks. Meeting objectives set by his/her N+1. Reporting of discrepancies and difficulties met in reaching quality goals / time schedules to N+1.
