We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process. + Sr. Technical Analyst Pay Range: $ 95,200 - $123,700 + Technical Analyst II Pay Range: $ 76,000 - $96,900 **Join our team as a Technical Analyst Specialist!** The Technical Analyst is a critical role responsible for overseeing the systems, applications, data exchanges, displays, and models that support SPP’s core services. This position focuses on ensuring that the Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Source Modeling Tools maintain data accuracy and deliver precise results. The Senior Technical Analyst will lead system enhancements, maintain model integrity, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies. **Key Responsibilities:** **Model Integrity** + Maintain and update SPP’s Network Model, EMS model, Commercial Model (CMM), and related data sources used by Reliability, Balancing, Tariff, Market, and Scheduling systems. + Coordinate, test, and implement system enhancements in the Source Modeling Tool. + Ensure accurate data flow in the Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) for superior real-time monitoring and state estimator outcomes. **Controls** + Ensure compliance with SPP’s modeling and change control procedures. + Oversee the accurate completion of SSAE16 Control Activities assigned to the team. **System Development & Testing** + Support, develop, and improve applications such as State Estimator, Alarm, Real-Time Contingency Analysis, Outage Scheduler, Load Forecast, and Modeling software. + Design, test, and implement vendor-delivered software and hardware changes. **Communication** + Coordinate model changes with SPP’s departments, members, and customers. + Document team processes and methods. + Research, document, and report system issues related to results from supported systems. + Coordinate data exchanges and model development with neighboring systems. **Leadership** + Interface with the Modeling Coordination Team at SPP. + Facilitate assigned SPP Stakeholder Groups. + Collaborate with SPP members, non-members, consultants, and software suppliers. + Assist in the development of the SPP Budget. + Perform administrative duties as required. **To be successful as the Technical Analyst, we're looking for:** + Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or other related degree + Sr. Technical Analyst - (6) years of job related experience + Technical Analyst II - (2) years of job related experience + Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) + Strong inter-personal and team work skills + Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills + Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures + Strong analytical skills + Availability for after-hours callout, and for on-call **Preferred:** + Advanced degree in economics, math, engineering or other related field of study. + Working knowledge of EMS state-estimator and/or power flow software + Working knowledge of the Common Information Model (CIM) or other representations of utility models, + Experience with data handling and analysis of large data sets (SQL, SQLite, HABITAT) + Hold an active NERC System Operator Certification + Electric Utility Industry experience **Work Environment:** This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. **Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:** This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required. **Travel Requirement:** This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-10%).
