Purpose

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for Improving the reliability and availability of the Auto electrical maintenance team by building, assessing and continuously improving the equipment availability. Identify, develop and implement improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the auto electrical team.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function;Adhere to safe working procedures for all work areas and keep a good safety culture.Provide leadership and mentoring for your subordinates, including on-going training and development.Ensure the teams work is of the highest quality with minimal to no re-workAll work areas are free from hazards and maintained to a high standard.Ensure maximum equipment availabilityDiagnostic fault finding on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systemsCarry out routine maintenance and repairs to the mining fleet, while training subordinate employeesRepairing equipment, identifying and scheduling future planned repairs.Work closely with planners and contribute to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement going forwardAbility to use robot-cause analysis tools in investigating breakdowns and sub-standard performance of equipment.Perform inspections on completed jobsMaintain a high standard of housekeeping at all timesPerform any other duties as required by Management.

Qualifications

Grade twelve (Grade 12) School CertificateAuto Electrical trade qualificationMinimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a maintenance technical adviser roleMember of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) & Engineering Registration Board (ERB).

Experience

A minimum of 8 years’ experience in heavy mechanical / Electrical equipmentSolid experience across a broad range of large mining equipment: Liebherr 9100 & 9250, Komatsu PC5500-6 excavators, D25K DrillsExperience with 24vdc circuit controls and automation system, software and hardwareStrong focus on continuous improvementGood understanding of production and maintenance priority of large scale mining equipmentExperience with work permit systems and safe work procedures to control maintenance activities and manage hazards associated with mining industry.Ability to mentor local workforceVery good problem solving skillsGood communication skills who gives clear, concise instructions
