A snapshot of the day
This is a leadership role within the Grid Technology team. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic team of engineers working on project activities related to HVDC applications. You will have full responsibility for the successful execution of engineering Substation HV equipment in HVDC & FACTS substations. You will manage and lead the team in charge of technical solutions design, fulfilling customer specifications and engineering standards, checking and ensuring compliance over the domains, obeying laws and regulations. You will plan and allocate resources and budget engineering activities, committing workforce proficiency and capability to conduct the assignments in time and quality. Teamwork with Bid Managers, Project managers and suppliers in the field of HV Equipment engineering is the key to success.
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:
Overall responsibility for complete technical correctness of HV Equipment Scope of HVDC/FACTS project.Overall Technical responsibility for the preparation of equipment specifications, check of test plans and optimization of the equipment construction under consideration of the special requirements for HVDC/FACTS system.Overall responsibility for preparation of technical and economic tender documents for high voltage equipment. Techno-Commercial support of the sales department and the project management for HV EquipmentOverall responsibility for the technical evaluation of the Main circuit parameters and system studies. Support the economic evaluation in the context of purchasing. Technical support during the search for the most suitable technical solution and qualified subcontractors Internal project supervision (timelines, costs, quality).Mentoring/Training of team members on technical topics related to Component engineering and HVDC/FACTS technology.Preparation and active participation of technical decisions in arrangement with the project manager and technical project manager Regular subproject reports, regular meetings with regards to project progress, constant monitoring project milestones Identification and evaluation of project-oriented risks and opportunities. Working out suggestions to minimize possible risks, recognizing benefits and opportunities.We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:
Knowledge acquired in 6 – 10 years in HVDC/FACTS Engineering, overall experience 12-18 years of experience in Substation EngineeringBachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or comparableTechnical Skills:
Lead the team in solving challenging technical issues for HVDC/FACTS HV Equipment Having technical overview Substation design, power system studies tools, requirement analysis to support component team in completing the equipment department activities in budget.Expert level knowledge with all of the following: EHV transformers, HV switchgear, HV Reactors/Resistors/Capacitors, CT/VT, Filter banks, Converter ModulesSolid Understanding of HVDC/FACTS technologies, main circuit parameters calculation, Insulation co-ordination, fault scenarios. Should be able to mentor junior members of the team. Deep Knowledge about and experience with Testing Techniques of HV components.Progress of project work, Risk analysis for the Equipment department and planning mitigations for them, Conducting Gate reviews. Extensive Experience in understanding and managing complex customer specifications. Expert level Review of multiple projects /tender submission simultaneously due to acquired expertise. Provide oversight of budget for engineering design, commissioning, maintenance, and equipment assessment.Provided technical solutions for transformer replacement, network strength study etc. Deep Knowledge of applicable norms and standards Ensure a lean approach and culture within the team and drive the team to committed cost and time savings Extensive Experience in tendering or execution of large turnkey projects Leadership experience with intercultural teamKey Skills:
