Job Title

Team Lead

Responsible for directing day to day activities of workers for a specific shift or area and for the production of acceptable product. Leads and encourages a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives. Maintains work area cleanliness. (No people management responsibilities (e.g. performance management and reviews, hiring, etc.).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Direct work of operators following production schedule; communicate production challenges and offer solutions to department supervisorMaintain production data (workflow and scrap) in appropriate computer databaseProvide continual updates to department supervisor on employee  performance and conduct issuesOperate and/or setup a variety of manufacturing equipment in assigned area to produce acceptable product per work instructionsInspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results, adjust process/machine or notify appropriate person of deviation when neededPartner with department supervisor and production planner to determine work flow and scheduleTrain and coach incoming employees on department work instructions, processes, procedures and policiesMonitor, review and approve employee time records in a consistent and timely mannerGather improvement ideas, assist with implementation and maintain as directed by department supervisorWears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

Job Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

One (1) year relevant experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to provide and receive verbal and written instructionsIntermediate math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals and fractions) and computer skillsDemonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring abilityAbility to resolve conflict in a professional mannerAbility to problem solve and collaborate cross functionally when issues ariseIntermediate knowledge of production processes and equipment within assigned areaMust exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
