Team Lead 2nd Lien Collections (On-site)

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or “service”) their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
 

Primary Function

The Team Lead 2nd Lien Collections is a seasoned collector responsible for initial collections on portfolios to maximize recovery and disposition loans to the appropriate work out strategy. The Team Lead is expected to assist with training new hires and assisting the supervisor.

Principal Duties

In addition to the 2nd Lien Loan Consultant duties, Team Leads must complete the following:Assists with new hires and training to improve employees' performance.Takes second talk off or supervisor calls when supervisor is not available.Performs as the senior representative and subject matter expert on the team.Provides assistance to teams as needed when supervisor is absent or dedicated to special projects as needed. Preforms skip tracing.Aids teams as needed when supervisor is absent or dedicated to special projects as needed.Knowledge of federal guidelines when creating a manual list.Oversees agents weekend scheduling.Conducts administrative duties with waiving late fees and NSF fees.Assists in sending emails to homeowners on behalf of team members.Sends best practices to peers.Provides supervisor coaching opportunities to new teammates just for awareness as well as job betterment and performance.Mentors more junior level team members.Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience Requirements  

High school diploma or equivalent, required.Bachelor’s degree, preferred.6+ years collections experience required.1-2 years mortgage experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements  

Familiarity with tracking databases and the maneuvering around the Internet.Familiarity with loan terminology, rights, and processes.Understanding all products, services, procedures, and guidelines and communicate the same to all team members.Excellent work ethic, high productivity, and acute attention to detail.Able to handle multiple task at the same time without errors.Short learning curve to assimilate new skills and tasks.Superior verbal communication and negotiation skills.
