Job Purpose

Responsibilities

Develop, coach and motivate a team of Claims Consultants in order to meet and exceed, agreed objectives and within required framework
Lead and monitor the team to execute a high standard of service and process adherence
Monitor and support the management of a portfolio of claims, including:
Workload prioritization and allocation
Claim review and authorization, process adherence
Technical product, process and system and compliance support
Performance and progress reporting, communication and monitoring
Ensure business specific requirements adhered to. (Best Process Practice)
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational activities that will continually improve Claims performance
Provide detailed input into on-going process, system development, product opportunities and process enhancement
Provide input into staffing requirements and recruitment
Monitor daily BAU performance against expectations, targets and improvement.
Operational Compliance
Identify and report potential risks or inadequate controls related to compliance or operational risks
Champion a culture of risk and compliance across the division
Maintain awareness, understanding and compliance with Company policies and procedures, including the on-time completion of mandatory training.

Education
General Education Matric

Experience
2 or more years claims administration and validation experience in a claims department within the short-term insurance industry (Essential); 1 or more years experience in a claims decision making role within a claims department within the short-term insurance industry (Advantageous); 1 or more years experience working with internal claims operating systems (Advantageous).
