Job DescriptionThe Tax Technology & Data Analyst will support the delivery of a critical Group Tax initiative to ensure Anglo American is ready to meet its Tax Compliance and Reporting obligations under the recently introduced Global Minimum Tax regime known as “Pillar 2”.
Partnering effectively with stakeholders across Group Tax, Finance and IM, the Tax Technology & Data Analyst will help to enable the Group Tax objective of adding value to the wider business by improving efficiencies and reducing risk through automation, standardisation and insight into data.
Key Responsibilities include:
Provide regular updates to the Project Leadership, Tax Transformation Lead and Specialists, escalating challenges where required.Support the Tax Transformation Specialists in the design and implementation of tax technology and data solutions.Support the development of a Tax Data Warehouse, working with Global IM to incorporate tax data requirements to meet the needs of our global compliance and reporting processes, with a particular focus on Pillar 2 data requirements.Support the financial data extraction process (from SAP and HFM) required for tax compliance and reporting, working in collaboration with IM and local Finance teams to produce and reconcile globally standardised datasets for all in scope entities/jurisdictions.Support the implementation and continued development of the Tax Reporting technology solution (Anaplan) and the Pillar 2 Tax Compliance tool, including integration with the tax data warehouse and other source systems. Partner with Global and local IM and Finance teams to identify tax data sources and data flows across the Anglo American finance systems landscape, perform tax data diagnostics and reconciliations, and drive continuous improvement of tax data quality and governance.Support on the development and embedding of a standardised Group Tax automation methodology based around a core automation toolset including Alteryx and Power BI.Support the development of technology and data skills within the Group Tax team, equipping teams with data modelling, analytics and visualisation tools required to deliver value to the business through data insights, opportunity identification, tax forecasting and scenario modelling.Collaborate with tax compliance and reporting SMEs and the tax business partnering teams to define global tax process and data requirements.QualificationsUnderstanding and experience of data structures, data preparation, reconciliation and analysisExperience using Power BI, Alteryx (desirable) and Excel Understanding of Tax and Finance Systems, ideally including knowledge and experience of working with Anaplan and SAP.Additional InformationWho we are
