Job Description:
Position Summary:
Prepares and files tax returns and reports in compliance with established deadlines. Responsible for determining tax implications of company actions and develops strategies for minimizing liability. Keeps abreast of changes in federal, state and local tax legislation. Analyze and interpret tax regulations and prepare required tax reports so that the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives. Maintain tax information and records; prepare tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports so that they are submitted accurately and on time. Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations and prepare technical reports on how they impact the organization's operations. Prepare correspondence with external tax agencies and consultants (for example, auditors). May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions. May analyze and incorporate International Tax issues.
Tax Provision Schedules and Reconciliations:
Prepare detailed schedules for tax provisions.Reconcile tax provisions with financial statements to ensure accuracy.Ensure timely submission of annual tax returns and tax estimates.Liaison with Tax Adviser:
Collaborate with the tax adviser on compliance matters.Gather and organize information required for tax advice.Support and Advice on Tax Matters:
Provide guidance on direct and indirect tax issues.Implement tax advice received and address any tax concerns.Tax Audits:
Coordinate with the tax adviser during direct and indirect tax audits.Ensure all necessary documentation and information are available.Regulatory Updates:
Stay informed about new regulations and budget announcements.Assess the potential tax implications and inform internal stakeholders.Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in tax processes.Implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Financial Reporting and Reconciliation
Vendor Debit Teamwork:
Collaborate with other departments to produce timely, accurate, and informative reports.Balance Sheet Reconciliation:
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.Recommend adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy.Operational Excellence Projects:
Participate in regional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.Harmonization of Operations:
Align shared service center operations with country-specific finance operations.Support to CFO and Finance Manager
Treasury:
Assist in managing the company's treasury functions.Statutory Audit:
Support the statutory audit process by providing necessary documentation and information.Budgeting:
Assist in the preparation and review of budgets.Collaboration and Reporting
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Work with various departments to ensure the delivery of timely and informative reports.Ad Hoc Duties:
Take on additional tasks as they arise to support the finance and tax functions.Requirement
Experience:
Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in taxation.Experience in handling tax audits and providing necessary documentation.Experience in participating in regional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.Skills:
Strong understanding of local tax laws and regulations.Proficiency in tax accounting software and Excel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Analytical mindset with attention to detail.Ability to stay updated with new tax regulations and budget announcements.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
