Tax Operations Lead

The purpose of this role is to lead on the development and direction of Takeda’s Global Tax Operations function which is accountable for end to end processes for all complex tax activities across global tax group including but not limited to Pillar 2 compliance, ESG Reporting and Legal Entity Statutory Forecast Model. The role will further support on tax transformation initiatives in data and process mapping, technology and other transformation projects to enhance operational efficiency of the global tax function. The role will be part of the Tax Global Process Owner (GPO) core team leading on specific GPO projects including driving process excellence across the whole tax organisation and where appropriate introducing new technologies to achieve standardisation, agility and a better employee experience

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As part of the Global Process Owner for Tax core team, lead on defining global end to end processes for Tax and implementing the relevant processes, systems, data and policy change across the organisation. Support tax transformation activities to develop highest standard data sources, efficient processes & technology solutions for key tax functions (CIT, ITX, TP, Reporting, etc.)Lead on specific complex tax activities which impact cross functional groups across the tax organisation including but not limited to Pillar 2 Compliance, ESG Reporting and Legal Entity Statutory Forecast Model.Support assessment and implementation of potential GenAI opportunities in short/medium-term to increase tax function effectiveness and enhance employee experience.Lead on maintaining and/or updating current tax department systems and processes.Monitors global tax law changes in order to determine the impact to the organization.Maintains relationships both within and outside of the tax department in order to ensure awareness across the organization of tax issues impacting the organization.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Required:

BS/BA in accounting/finance/law, CPA preferred but not requiredMinimum 12 years of relevant experienceStrong knowledge of global tax lawComprehensive understanding of accounting, including accounting for income taxesProficiency in tax software (e.g., Hyperion, OneSource, SAP) and data analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Power Suite Apps).
