Summary

We are recruiting for a Tax Clerk.  This position is responsible for compiling, preparing, and maintaining various tax filings.  Also, will assist department with organization, preparation of various state and federal correspondence, and assist compiling audit requests as needed.

 

This position has a target wage of $18.00 - $27.00  per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Compile, reconcile, and prepare various mileage and fuel tax reports.

2. Compile and prepare various Gross Receipts tax filings.

3. Submit various requested information for third party preparation of state and entities annual reports.

4. Compile, reconcile and prepare sales tax filings for ecommerce transactions. Prepare responses to any correspondence as necessary.

5. Organize, maintain department files and correspondence.  Assist Tax Director and Manager’s with preparation of notice correspondence.

Experience and Education Requirements

 

REQUIRED:  Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a total of five years of related work experience w/o furthered education. 

 

Requires strong reading, communication, math, writing and analytical skills. 

Must have working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment
