Description
Amazon is seeking a Tax Analyst to join the EMEA Tax Department based in London or in Luxembourg to support the Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) cloud computing business, focusing on corporation tax advisory.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently whilst liaising with both the tax team and the wider AWS business as it continually expands both its offerings and footprint within EMEA. The role will focus on corporate tax matters including the interaction with withholding, indirect, transfer pricing and other tax areas.
Advising the AWS business will require the candidate to advise on a variety of topics and multiples jurisdictions in EMEA. This is a corporation tax advisory role which may include liaising with other tax and compliance functions as well as other business lines within Amazon. There will also be scope for dealing with ad-hoc enquiries during audits.
This role can be filled in London or Luxembourg.
Key job responsibilities
• Managing and coordinating tax requirements for country expansions and new program launches.
• Providing relevant tax guidance to the business whilst working to build relationships and understanding with the business so that adherence is maintained.
• Supporting on ad-hoc projects such a restructuring or transactions involving the AWS business.
• Researching international tax issues and working with outside advisers as necessary as part of the tax team supporting business initiatives.
• Engaging with outside tax advisors to support tax projects.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex)
