Tax Administrator
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in the field of Finance/Tax At least 3 years proven working experience in Tax Experience with SARS, Provisional Tax, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Tax Calculations, Tax Planning Proficient on MS Office (Excel, Word, OneDrive, and SharePoint) Detail-orientated Team Player Excellent organisational and administrative skills Proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and plan Presentable with strong Interpersonal communication and listening skills. Proficiency in English and Afrikaans Ability to work under pressure and handle difficult conversations with clients/SARS Duties will include but not limited to the following:
Tax Practitioner Registration and maintaining required CPD hours Manage the administration of clients on ProfTax, including the take-on and take-off procedures Accurate and timeous data capturing and record keeping on ProfSoft, tax inbox and taxquery list; Completion and submission of tax returns for all entities (companies, trusts, close corporations) and individuals, as required; Review of assessments as issued by SARS to confirm accuracy or to identify need for a dispute and the timeous communication of the beforementioned to related managers; Sending of assessment letters to clients on a daily basis; Prepare client billings within the monthly deadlines set; Assisting Partners, Managers and clerks with any tax related matters; Attend to requests from SARS on queries relating to clients; Correspond with clients in order to obtain information to attend to relevant tasks and address queries; Comply with all internal deadlines set; Administration, preparation and submission of registration and deregistration documentation to SARS; Require to obtain and maintain up to date knowledge of the Tax Administration Act; Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of tax amendments and legislation; Monthly checking of clients’ tax payments and refunds; Training of clerks and other staff regarding any changes in legislation or SARS practices; Supporting the Tax Compliance Officer with respective duties relating to: o Provisional tax administration Income tax registrations (all tax types) E-filing database maintenance Other Ad-hoc duties Attend to SARS appointment on behalf of and with clients Setup and transfer requests of e-filing profiles for new taxpayers Queries
Ensuring all tax queries are attended to promptly, efficiently and effectively and resolved within the required due date Ensuring all tax queries are uploaded and maintained on ProfSoft – query list should be accurate and up to date SAICA query register: queries should be listed and followed up Tax Ombudsman: relevant queries should be lodged and followed up In return, a competitive salary is on offer coupled with the opportunity to work within a well established concern that values their employees welfare.
