Job Description

Are you a skilled Tax Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic and supportive environment? Look no further!

AECOM Finance is a close-knit team of finance professionals based in Madrid, with additional support from our global finance teams. We're on the lookout for a talented Tax Accountant to join us in Madrid and make a real impact.

About the Role:

As a Tax Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in our finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. Your responsibilities will include a variety of finance-related tasks, such as preparing financial records, integrating Joint Ventures when needed, computing taxes, and preparing tax returns. 

Key Responsibilities:

Timely Preparation: Ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared on time.JV Integration: Integrate Joint Ventures into Oracle and present detailed reports on the company's JV situation to senior management.Tax Returns: Prepare federal, state, local, and international tax returns.Tax Strategies: Develop strategies to optimize tax obligations and ensure compliance with tax laws.Financial Analysis: Analyze and review financial data to identify tax savings and opportunities.Research: Conduct research on tax laws and regulations, staying updated on changes and developments.Collaboration: Work with internal and external auditors during financial and tax audits.Advisory Role: Maintain relationships with external advisors and advise managers on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.Best Practices: Develop and implement best practices for tax and accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications

 

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; a Master's in Taxation is a plus.Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment.Technical Skills: Experience reporting under US GAAP and proficiency with Oracle and SAGE50.Language Skills: Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills.Personal Attributes: Autonomy, accountability, and a proactive approach to work.
