What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join the growing tax team at Rover. Your primary responsibilities will include preparation of the Company’s state and local indirect returns, business licenses, financial statement reserves, information reporting returns, and correspondence with our customers.  You are detail-oriented and results-focused, and have excellent organization and communication skills. You enjoy collaborating with others to support team projects and goals, as well as company-wide initiatives, but can also work independently. This position is based in our Seattle office, where we have hybrid in-office/working from home arrangements. Your Responsibilities:Prepare federal, state, and local filings, with a primary focus on indirect taxes and information reporting Assist Rover’s tax information reporting process in US federal, state and international jurisdictions Business process internal controls for indirect tax Engage with tax authorities on questions and discrepanciesAssist in the resolution of customer service questions related to indirect tax and informational reportingAssist in the maintenance and reconciliation of indirect tax GL accountsContribute to monthly financial statement close processes and accrualsWork with the legal team with sensitive information verificationOther tax projects, as neededYour Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, advanced tax degree, or equivalent experience required1-3 years of experience in public accounting and / or a corporate tax department requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft ExcelBasic knowledge of indirect taxStrong attention to detailCommitment to excellent customer serviceEffective communication and interpersonal skillsYour Bonus Skills:Licensed CPAExperience with NetSuite, Avalara, and internally developed transactional databases Experience in a large corporate tax environmentExperience with indirect taxExperience in SQLBenefits of Working at Rover.com Competitive compensation401kFlexible PTOCompetitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insuranceCommuter benefitsBring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)Doggy benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dogStocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches semi-monthly Regular team activities performed in-person and virtuallyCompensation: In the greater Seattle area the first year salary range is $77,001-$99,235.
