Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Director of Finance to join our team and support the financial operations of our hotel. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing departmental budgets, and maintaining the financial health of the property. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of hotel finance operation. Assist the Director of Finance in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting/Finance department. Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Manage and monitor the hotel’s budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, as well as company policies. Support internal and external audits, providing accurate documentation and timely responses. Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Conduct regular financial analyses to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Provide financial training and guidance to department heads to enhance budgetary awareness and control. Act as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries during the Director of Finance’s absence. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hotel finance or accounting, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Full-service hotel experience is highly preferred. Skills: Strong knowledge of hotel financial systems, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as Opera, Micros, and Oracle (or similar). Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
