Job description
We are hiring a Tar Person to support our Paving Crew in Calgary, Alberta for the 2025 Construction Season. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying tar and other materials to surfaces, ensuring quality and durability in various construction projects. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Apply tar and sealants to pavements, and other surfaces as required. Prepare surfaces for application by cleaning and removing debris. Operate equipment such as tar kettles and sprayers safely and efficiently. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to specifications. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Assist in the training of new team members on proper techniques and safety measures.
Required Knowledge and Experience
Previous experience in roofing, paving, or construction is preferred but not required. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship. Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods. Knowledge of safety practices related to tar application is a plus. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
