Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Klingerstown, Pennyslvania known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade. Responsibilities Join Our Team as a Mixer and Tanker Bay Specialist! Are you passionate about ensuring the highest quality in food production? As a Mixer and Tanker Bay Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in delivering excellent tasting, safe, and high-quality products to our employees, customers, and consumers in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Follow all company and USDA standards to ensure our products meet the highest quality and safety requirements. Efficient Operations: Direct the proper flow of liquid egg to holding tanks and ensure the perfect mix of egg products and ingredients according to customer formulas and specifications. Final Distribution: Transfer edible liquid egg that meets USDA and company specifications for final distribution. Monitoring & Documentation: Keep a close eye on all tanks and tankers, ensuring they are cleaned, sanitized, and properly documented. Cross-Training: Gain valuable experience in the inedible tanker bay, managing the removal of shells and inedible products. Safety First: Comply with safety work rules at all times and reinforce safety as a core value. Food Safety & Quality: Ensure all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety and quality are uniformly followed to reduce product and process variability. Mixer Duties: Setup & Coordination: Set up the mixing room after USDA inspections and obtain the correct formulation of liquid egg product and ingredients using pre-determined procedures (ZBAT) approved by the company. USDA Coordination: Coordinate with USDA for all tanker cleaning and transfers of liquid egg for shipment. Ingredient Handling: Strip outer bags off ingredients and pour them into appropriate containers, recording new lot numbers to meet USDA and Quality Assurance specifications. Accurate Recording: Record LOT numbers, pH, egg solids, and egg pounds on batch sheets and egg usage forms to meet Quality Assurance and USDA specifications, along with any other necessary paperwork. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain scales and meters to ensure precise and accurate readings. Housekeeping: Assist in maintaining general good housekeeping of the area. Quality Control: Determine if the product meets customer specifications and take corrective action as needed. CIP System Knowledge: Have thorough knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system to use it appropriately for washing lines and tankers. Pasteurizer Operation: Thorough knowledge of and ability to run the pasteurizer. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Driver’s license Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Skill in working with computers and experience with spreadsheet and word-processing software
