Electronics Technician Maintenance III

Our work depends on Electronics Technician Maintenance III joining our team to serve as Equipment Specialist for the AN/TSQ-179 Tactical Ground Station (TGS), which is assigned to Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD). Work is performed at the Forward Repair Activity at Fort Liberty, NC. and various TDY locations. Candidate serves as the Equipment Specialist for all systems located in the assigned region.
HOW AN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN MAINTENANCE III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
+ Exercises continuing responsibility for a comprehensive range of field use support activities for components of the system and subsystems of the TGS.
+ Provides maintenance and supply support to AN/TSQ-179 platforms under test and fielded to units as directed by program managers of the TGS.
+ When working with new equipment or systems lacking complete technical data, devises test set-ups and procedures and closely monitors newly established repair lines until adequate confidence in techniques and procedures is gained.
+ Provides necessary mechanical, software testing, and troubleshooting techniques to include repair of hard discs, use of format utilities, tracing of boot sequences and power-on procedures to identify failures.
+ Fabricates needed test fixtures, when required.
+ Records test data and recommends system or circuit modifications to documentation in coordination with engineering personnel.
+ Aligns, calibrates, and otherwise interfaces and integrates all subsystems and equipment into a functional system.
+ Responsible for repair and maintenance, supporting such equipment as raids, servers, and associated peripherals in TGS.
+ Performs total system validation/verification after repairs while on temporary duty (TDY) at other installations and while at TYAD.
+ Analyses primary power systems, power and data cabling, interfacing of communications/computer equipment and ground procedures.
+ Troubleshooting to isolate problems to the Line Replaceable Unit and replacing or repairing the faulty items.
+ Provides specialized technical knowledge and guidance to military corps, division, group, battalion, and company commanders, and all levels of maintenance officers on matters related to maintainability of mission Tactical Operations Center.
+ Provides field support as deemed necessary by the division chief and system manager.
+ Provides advice, assistance, on-the-job training and instructions to users on the operation and maintenance of the AN/TSQ-179(v) 2 (TGS) hardware and software.
+ Recommends formal training and conducts informal training of military and civilian personnel in maintenance procedures, special troubleshooting procedures, parts requirements and related subjects.
+ Coordinates logistical support through direct communication (both written and oral) and liaison with command's system managers, contractors, developers, and users. Participates in off-depot meetings and conferences with major commands, engineers, and any development commands to plan, coordinate and implement converted approaches to technical problems and/or product improvements of the specific TGS equipment and system cited above. Provides advice and guidance concerning problems with equipment failure and ascertains probable cause (i.e. test equipment failure or deficiency, design problems, troubleshooting techniques, appropriate test or calibration procedures, specification inadequacies), and initiates corrective action to resolve problems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
+ AA/AS, 3+ years’ experience. (2 years of additional work experience may be substituted for an A.A./A.S. Degree)
+ In-depth knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices related to the hardware and software aspects of the AN/TSQ-179 Tactical Ground Station (TGS).
+ Skilled in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex problems effecting the operation of the AN/TSQ-179 Tactical Ground Station (TGS).
+ Performs problem identification, isolation and repair on the more complex electronic technical defects identified in the system and related equipment.
+ Candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance to perform the duties of this position.
+ Candidate must possess and retain a valid vehicle operator license.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
+ The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, or reaching; or recurring lifting of objects weighing 40 pounds. Objects weighing over 40 pounds are lifted with the assistance of coworkers or via lifting equipment.
+ Candidate's work involves everyday risks and discomforts typically associates with communications systems of transportable shelter or van mounted configurations. Work areas are for the most part are adequately heated, lighted and ventilated.
+ Extensive travel (60% of the time) will be required.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.84 - $36.32. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
