Table Games Dealer

Compensation: $11.50 per hour

AGE REQUIREMENT:  21 years or older

Position Summary:

Responsible for dealing the Isleta Resort and Casino’s Blackjack, Mini Baccarat, Pai-Gow, Craps, Roulette and other table games while providing World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino’s guests.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. Deals the Isleta Resort and Casino’s table games per procedures. Maintains a positive attitude while delivering excellent internal and external guest service. Deals appropriate number of cards to players. Checks and verifies players' bets, prior to dealing cards. Determines game outcome: collects losing bets, announces and pays winner(s), and begins new game. Exchanges money for chips to be used in games. Conducts gambling games such as dice, roulette, and/or other table games. Inspects cards to ensure compliance with gaming standards. Inspects gaming equipment. Computes odds and players' winnings and losses. Responds to questions about game rules and variations. Aids players in the understanding of games to promote more or extended business. Watches for scammers or cheaters Notifies Pit Supervisor of any irregularities. Resolves disputes or arguments by conferring with Supervisor. Invites players to sit at table and play. Responsible for table and chip security at all times. Maintains a clean and neat chip rack and table at all times. Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes play.  Gives basic instruction on all Table Games, promotions, and special events, as requested.  Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred. Two (2) years prior dealing, preferred. Native American experience preferred. Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

Must be able to acquire and maintain Key Gaming License issued through POIGRA. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements. Must be 21 years or older.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must possess knowledge of Craps or Baccarat and Blackjack, Roulette, and Pai-Gow and other games as applicable. Must be able to deal efficiently to high denominations. Must be able to perform basic mathematics to include, but is not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must possess thorough knowledge of the principles and procedures of all Table Games. Must possess graceful, stylish, and fluent table games dealing skills. Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact. Must be able to take direction well.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Smoke filled environment, exposure to various lights and sounds. Occasionally may deal with angry or hostile individuals. Must be on call at all times. May work holidays, weekends, and different shifts.
