Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday, with required on-call time. Valid driver’s license This position requires travel up to 25%. Experience: 3 years of experience in computer systems analysis, Cybersecurity or network infrastructure systems and services. Alternatively, an Associate's degree in a relevant field coupled with at least one year of relevant experience in computer systems analysis, Cybersecurity or network infrastructure systems and services. Duties and Responsibilities : + Manage, procure, and assess telecommunications services encompassing various networking technologies such as analog, digital, VoIP, video conferencing, and data services for the organization. + Collaborate with Program Areas and end-users to conduct needs assessments and define system requirements to ensure alignment with customer needs. + Conduct on-site analysis to troubleshoot operational issues related to networking services, implementing necessary changes for service enhancement. + Troubleshoot LAN and WAN hardware, configuring network infrastructure equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. + Conduct ongoing audits to evaluate the cost-effectiveness and performance of networking services, recommending improvements to meet organizational communication needs. + Develop and implement methodologies and procedures for efficient utilization of networking services, including hardware and software components. + Coordinate with various agency support groups to ensure networking services align with organizational objectives and comply with existing applications and security protocols. + Collaborate with the Finance and Budget Office to reconcile networking services billing. + Manage procurement processes for networking equipment and services through the Division of Management Services. + Resolve operational issues related to networking services by liaising with Network Services staff and vendors. + Prepare administrative and purchasing reports pertaining to networking services as required. + Stay updated on hardware and software advancements by studying technical manuals and attending training seminars. + Develop and maintain documentation for supporting networking services and systems, including operational procedures, policies, and system operations/support documentation. + Provide end-user training on the operation of networking devices and systems. + Diagnose networking issues through technical diagnostics, collaborating with hardware, software, and service providers to resolve major problems. + Administer, install, configure, and maintain Enterprise Network Systems, ensuring optimal functionality and performance while addressing hardware, software, and communication issues. + Implement and manage network infrastructure including but not limited to network printing services, network peripheral devices, and associated infrastructure. + Fulfill assigned on-call duties during off-duty periods. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Proficient in networking principles, TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, and switching. + Understanding of network hardware, protocols, and security principles. + Familiarity with wireless networking technologies and emerging trends. + Configuration and management of network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls. + Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve connectivity and performance issues. + Competency in network monitoring and management tools. + Ability to “punch down” cabling and extend networking and telecommunication services throughout the local area network. + Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders. + Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. + Adaptability to changing technologies and quick learning of new concepts. + Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in team environments. + Ability to remain composed under pressure when resolving critical network issues. + Proactive problem-solving skills to anticipate and mitigate network risks. + Commitment to following industry best practices and standards. + Dedication to ongoing professional development and certification. + Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
