Job Summary
The System Implementation Engineer plays a critical role in the sales process by applying technical subject matter expertise in the environmental Market to support Campbell Scientific’s EMEA sales team. In this role, you will review client requirements and design competitive, compliant solutions, including working as part of an ad hoc proposal response team led by a Proposal Manager. You will also apply technical subject matter expertise to proposal response content, sales tools, technical marketing collateral, and develop training curriculum. You will research, conduct, and lead client technical needs analysis to serve as a bridge between clients and product management. You will represent Campbell Scientific at events, such as trade shows and conferences and influence market strategy by advocating for the needs of our clients and sales team within the company.
Campbell Scientific is an established environmental monitoring solutions provider. We are seeking colleagues who are passionate about working with solar energy developers, owners, and operators to design and create environmental monitoring solutions for solar power plant site assessment and operations. You will be part of a team dedicated to serving clients by providing solutions to reliably monitor the environment for the solar energy industry, helping protect and improve the lives of citizens around the world.
Essential Functions
+ Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific’s core ARCTIC values -- Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, Continuous Improvement.
+ Work with the global sales team to review technical requirements and design fit-for-purpose solutions and proposals for clients.
+ Communicate and support sales staff with systems and specials, quoting and implementation.
+ Assist in the coordination of scheduling requirements with production and clients such that orders are shipped on time, in budget and according to specifications.
+ Communicate with customers to verify systems requirements and performance specifications.
+ Create systems wiring diagrams and other necessary documentation for production and customer requirements.
+ Write and test datalogger programs for systems as needed.
+ Perform or assist technicians as needed in performing factory acceptance tests of systems.
+ Travel to the field to install, commission (may include site acceptance test), and/or train customers on recently purchased systems when needed.
+ Create and properly control system documentation to be retrieved for technical support personnel in providing customer support or service.
+ Develop sales tools, technical marketing collateral, and proposal response content in coordination sales and marketing staff.
+ Advise and consult with Product Managers as needed to support development decisions.
+ Occasionally help staff conferences and exhibits, including representing Campbell Scientific in exhibit booths and giving presentations.
+ Be prepared to step outside defined job boundaries to help your team succeed and ensure excellent client satisfaction before and after the sale.
+ Influence annual revenue and year-on-year revenue growth in the solar energy market.
Required Technical and Functional Skills
+ Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of productivity software.
+ Understanding of scientific principles underlying measurements, instrument operation, and the role of environmental monitoring in solar power plant operations.
+ Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to independently manage a challenging workload when faced with unexpected changes in priorities and deadlines.
+ Ability to collaborate closely with local and remote team members.
+ Practitioner expertise or demonstrated involvement in the Solar Energy market.
+ Familiarity with common environmental monitoring sensors, systems, and software platforms.
+ Committed to the highest standards of excellence and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in Solar Energy industry.
+ Experience using Campbell Scientific products.
+ Experience operating and maintaining measurement equipment in target market.
Required Education and Relevant Experience
+ Education: BS degree in Science, or Engineering field or equivalent experience.
+ Experience: 5 years of experience in Technical Proposal Response, Application Management, Customer Technical Support, Sales, Marketing, or in a user role in the target market.
+ Skills: Demonstrated competency in understanding client technical challenges and application of relevant environmental monitoring hardware.
Work Environment: Office work environment and travel environment. Travel up to 15% of time.
