To further improve our value proposition, we are looking for a Systems Engineer for our Global Business Services (GBS) Mexico.
Position Overview
The Systems Engineer (HW Engineer) works in an interdisciplinary project team in the industry and will be responsible for the subtasks of the adapting of electrical construction for automotive and industry logistics projects. He will be working under the lead of an experienced Lead Engineer and/or a Project Manager. The supporting of a commissioning team in troubleshooting, rewiring and new wiring is also a task.
Tasks include project-relevant technical responsibility for implementation of constructional Eplan drawings such as small new projects, as built documentation (red line drawings) an adaption of extensions of existing systems. Therefor new Eplan drawings and bills of material have to be developed under the use of customer` templates and best practice technologies.
This person supports and advises the Lead Engineer and Project Manager in technical discussions with the customer in the field of expertise.
Responsibilities
Manages all relevant technical information of the project team members and partners whether internal/external.Follows the Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g. fiscal regulations, employee delegation, export control, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety)).The Hardware engineer shares responsibility for the project budget in the field of expertise. Observes and validates the compliance with ""Siemens compliance regulations"" by e.g. application of Compliance-Risk (Re-) Assessments to the respective milestones / quality gates.Actively seeks and uses sources of information, knowledge, and experience. Analyzes information, knowhow and experience and makes project knowledge available. Takes the chance to learn from others and to exchange experiences.Takes over the responsibility to integrate team members into project work and cares about teamwork and wellbeing. The candidate is proactive about their personal development (e.g. PMP-process) for other team members and themselves.Makes sure there is an efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders. Makes sure there is a targeted and complete communications within the project team. Actively seeks feedback (e.g. from associates, superiors, managers, customers).Helps to process all relevant PM@Siemens elements and milestone work results according to the project category. Follows the Siemens Project Management Plan which includes the continuous monitoring of the project status in consideration of the IFRS, early recognition of deviations and initiates targeted measures in cooperation with the Project ManagerHelps to define procedures and requirements of quality management for his tasks (audits, seals of approval, acceptance checks) according to the existing quality regulations and customer or local standards.Implements the project within the pre-determined financial targets (budget, target costing, target profit margin). Identifies and minimizes non-conformance costs (NCC).Could be involved in the distribution process / bid phase, analyzes customer requirements and examining their technical feasibility. Ensures that Siemens products and services are used wherever they are available and applicable.Actively gathers information on the customer and the customer's requirements/targets.Ongoing identifying and rating of risks and opportunities in his responsibilities of the running project to the project manager with claims and their management by technical preparation and documentation of change requests.Knowledge Management where the candidate develops and uses active sources of information in order to apply them in a project-based and entrepreneurial way. Proactively gathers information, knowledge and experience and stores it for cross team sharing. Takes the chance to benefit from others and exchange experiences through lesson learned sharing. Professional experience of 3-5 years in a company working in automation engineering.Working knowledge of electrical engineering (Eplan drawings).Installation and Commissioning experience of knowledge of Body shops, Conveyors, Storage and Retrieval systems (including Technologies, Processes, Procedures, Regulation) with automobile producer or supplier.Industrial safety regulations: knowledge of area-specific industrial safety and regulations with respect to the project-specific implementation.MS-Office Applications: Excel, Word.Product knowledge of Siemens, SEW, Sick, Pilz, Wago, Festo.Implementation-Know how (Basic/Detail-Engineering). Eplan and/or Ruplan desired.Language skills: English, Spanish. German is a plusPreferred Education
BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education with focus on electrical and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
