Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing various products that meet several industrial analysis needs daily.By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec (Canada), you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary engineering team.As a system engineer/scientist, you will be responsible for developing instruments in the space and defense domain (SDS). You must ensure successful delivery of these projects on time, within budget limits, and in accordance with quality and safety guidelines.The sought engineer possesses a developed physical sense, autonomy, aptitude for multidisciplinary teamwork, and experience in research and development for the design and analysis of instruments for space missions.•\tInteract directly with the project manager and the client to understand their needs.•\tBe the technical point of contact for our clients and maintain a trustful relationship with them throughout the project phases.•\tEstablish and manage system and subsystem requirements, model systems, develop technical budgets and their margins, ensure system compliance and manage technical risks.•\tCollaborate with the project manager and project engineer to monitor technical actions, plan short-term schedules, and lead weekly project meetings with the technical team in an Agile methodology.•\tCollaborate with the Integration and Test team in developing test plans, their definition, and verification and validation strategies.•\tRegularly make presentations, both in English and French, to clients or the technical team during design reviews or other milestones.•\tDefine the effort levels required to achieve current objectives and for new projects.•\tContinuously develop and improve system engineering tools, including Model-based Systems Engineering.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor's degree in engineering or applied sciences, or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of experience as a system engineer/scientist in infrared optical system development. Results-oriented, teamwork, and client communication. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to provide clear and concise documentation. Proven ability to follow standardized procedures and methodologies for operational aerospace and suggest simplifications for Aerospace 2.0. Proficiency in the following tools: Magic Draw (Model-based Systems Engineering), Windchill (product tree, document tree, management, BOM), Primavera Client (short-term scheduling and task management), SAP (order tracking, etc.), Office suite, Matlab or Python. Good knowledge of INCOSE, CMMI, MIL-STD, ISO, and other standards. Bilingual in English and French. French is required. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec on a regular basis.
