Job DescriptionAs a member of the System Administration team, you are responsible for applying skills and exercising knowledge to perform specified support functions. As part of the team -You will support critical applications and ensure the stability of services by performing dedicated maintenance activities. You engage in automation activities, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation. Knowledge of production support process including incident/change/problem management, call triaging, and critical issue resolution procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Infrastructure Operations and Production Support of container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker UCP and Kubernetes)
Docker/Kubernetes deployment, configuration, scaling and management of containerized applications.
Openshift Enterprise implementation and Support
ESXi, vSphere systems administration and support including vMotion, HA, DRS, vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Service Manager, vCenter Configuration Manager, Site Recovery Manager
Working with tools surrounding the Kubernetes ecosystem such as helm, kubeadm, Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentD etc.
Working with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible, terraform etc.)
Scripting and automation skills converting manual and maintenance functions into fully orchestrated automation.
Sharing technical and customer knowledge in a helpful and timely fashion
Responsible for partnering with the Platform, Engineering and Delivery Teams to deliver seamless infrastructure support for all Visa business lines
Security Remediation process (vulnerability assessment and patch management)
Contribute to standardize and document operational procedures
Responsible for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of work experience
6 to 18 months of Unix system administration/Containers experience preferred
Scripting Knowledge/ experience (Shell, Python)
Knowledge in cloud platforms preferred.
Solid understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies
Perform root cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion
Team player who is able to work independently with general supervision
Work closely with application teams in ensuring best practices are followed and the infrastructure automation can be self-service
Self-motivated with the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
Ability to coordinate activities within cross-divisional and cross-functional teams
Excellent verbal, written, skills, in particular, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally
Ability to understand and adopt process, project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
Be scheduled On-Call to support the infrastructure and our systems
