Systems Engineer II - VO Tools & Automation

Responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their associated operating systems and databases. Responsible for Application Administration of OSS applications supporting all Charter Divisions. Will participate in full life-cycle of Software Development activities of high-quality, scalable solutions. 


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Work in an Agile environment utilizing agile methodology on a daily basis Development using a variety of languages which may include JavaScript, Ruby, Java, Python, Golang, Node.js, shell scripting Design, develop, and implement complex reports and analytics Interact with various stakeholders to understand their business needs, communicate project status and develop relationships to ensure satisfaction Proficiently use tools and analytics to provide insight and make recommendations Write and review pull requests in Git Leverage various data and technology resources to augment analysis Use advanced data and coding techniques to provide concise and compelling software solutions Participate in visualization design and deployment review sessions to ensure all technical and functional requirements have been met Provide ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions from stakeholder groups Participate in visualization design and deployment review sessions to ensure all technical and functional requirements have been met 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge 

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Desired: Knowledge of development to support video delivery. Examples include encoding, encryption, transport, packaging, QAMs, OSS, etc. Experience with Object Oriented Design/Programming Understanding with UI design and development. Understanding of the operational nature of a deployed software system Proficiency with code repositories, development frameworks, and programming languages,  such as Ruby, Go, and Python. Familiar with Test Driven Development (TDD) Desired: Knowledge with Splunk Desires Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Knowledge with Elastic (ELK Stack) Knowledge with database development (Mongo, Postgres, etc.) Knowledge with Big Data, Data Warehousing, ETL, and DevOps Understanding of RESTful design principals Aptitude to flourish handling multiple tasks, workload, changing priorities and tight deadlines Knowledge with Jira Ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action with sustainable solutions 

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications

Application Development experience in relevant areas - 3 Network OSS application experience - 2 System Administration experience - 2 Database support and development experience - 2 Experience in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) - 2

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
