This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.
As part of a small team, you will work on launch vehicles, space vehicles and launch facility systems for the New Glenn Program. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
You will work across subsystems which integrate with primary structure and support the development integrated solutions to achieve our vision of “millions of people living and working in space” and apply system engineering practices across subject areas predicated to a high degree on your technical skills, support the development of system engineering processes for the program, ensure consistent implementations across the program, and serve in a system integration capacity working with multi-discipline teams to arrive at technical system solutions. You will also support the development, allocation, verification of requirements at all levels of the program using tools like DOORS Next Gen, system lifecycle configuration management tools, and other functional analysis toolsets.
Additionally, this role requires understanding and supporting requirements decomposition/analysis and traceability, functional analysis of designs, systems analysis, safety analysis, technical performance monitoring, developing strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) and system product life cycle processes. You will also support the alignment and consistent implementation of New Glenn system engineering practices throughout the product value stream as well as across program systems. You will also help develop health metrics to support insight into program health and tracking to major milestones.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial engineering, or a similar technical field.Solid foundation in static strength analysis, pressure vessels and strength of materials (this should cover most of the basics for an engineering graduate)3+ years of proven experience in a technical fieldExperience with system engineering principles and a solid understanding of the design/analysis lifecycleExperience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing of complex systemsPossess skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive in moving the program forward through team collaborations to achieve timely decisionsAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must possess a bias for action and a willingness to take ownership of processes and products to ensure a high-quality deliverable to our customersMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred:
