Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Currently Noblis is looking to hire 2 Systems Engineers with a background in Controls.
This position is for a Machinery Controls System Engineer. The main function of the candidate will be to provide lifecycle support of fielded Machinery Control Systems (MCS) on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer. This includes shipboard support as well as Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support. The USS ARLEIGH BURKE MCS is comprised of four (4) different variants spanning various technologies. Noblis is looking for an Electrical Engineer who is eager to learn our programs and systems.
Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:
Troubleshooting complex problems of all variants of fielded systems (microprocessor based control systems) both at LBES and shipboardReview of technical documentation related to all variants of fielded systems and future fielded systemsProvide test support for all variants of fielded systems at LBESProvide shipboard SW & HW installation support of all variants of fielded systems at LBESProvide technical input to the design of future MCS systemsDevelop test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systemsProvide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required; no equivalencies or experience substitutions will be considered.At the minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering or computer engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environment.Successful applicants must either have an active government security (DoD secret) clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.Experience with Versa Module Eurocard (VME) systems.Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.Artifact development: Test Procedure Development, Tech Manual, APL, EOSS, EOCC, training.Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance. Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to travel at least 10% of the time.
The work is typically performed at industrial test sites (80%) and aboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea – 20%), which requires proper safety precautions and appropriate physical protection equipment which will be provided by the employer. The remaining 10% of time will be in a typical office environment reviewing technical documentation.
The role also requires travel to domestic and international client sites. Travel will be up to 20% of the role.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
