Systems Engineer
Description: + Provide engineering support for the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of large-scale process control systems. + Responsibilities include field instrumentation selection, panel design (electrical and mechanical), applications programming (database & graphics), PLC programming, documentation, and training. + Participate in full life-cycle project delivery including sales support, design, procurement, implementation, commissioning, testing and training. + Projects generally consist of multiple systems and subsystems communicating via LAN/WAN or low speed data lines with a variety of third party systems and software packages. + SCADA projects include PLCs, RTUs and other intelligent devices communicating over copper, fiber or wireless to centralized monitoring and control locations. + ATMS subsystems include Variable Message Signs, CCTV, RTUs, PLCs, Traffic Controllers, and cable-based and wireless communications systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications: + The candidates must have a 4 year degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering. + 2-5 years of relevant experience. + The ability to program and configure PLCs and HMIs is required. + Candidates must have a working knowledge of network architectures such as Ethernet, SONET, and wireless. + Good documentation, technical writing, and verbal communication skills a must. + Relevant experience must include PLC-HMI control for one of the following: water, wastewater, power, manufacturing, or transportation systems. + Remote site SCADA, wireless communications, or 600V DC traction power experience preferred. + Experience with all aspects of control system design, integration, and equipment including computer systems, programmable logic controllers, remote terminal units, process instrumentation, and software.
