Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to take products from the design phase to the production phase, track component lead times and costs, and ensure seamless integration of systems and subsystems using Interface Control Documents. The role involves managing final product costs, creating and maintaining necessary documentation, and working with cross-functional teams. Experience with SharePoint as a platform for engineering development/tools and proficiency in Excel (including VBA and pivot tables) is required. This position offers the opportunity to work with renowned industry players and contribute to significant programs that modernize military deployments.
ResponsibilitiesTake the product from design phase to production phase, tracking component lead time and cost.Assess and release parts to supply chain based on design maturity and risk.Validate and ensure product robustness and performance requirements.Use Interface Control Documents for seamless system integration.Ensure the final product meets all requirements.Manage final product costs to meet target costs.Create and maintain required documentation for proper product introduction.Collaborate with cross-functional teams.Work with SharePoint as a platform for engineering development/tools.Utilize Excel for engineering tasks (VBA, pivot tables).Experience with deployable infrastructure.Collaborate with all engineering disciplines to verify and validate designs and components.Identify and maintain project risks through thorough review.Generate and maintain a compliance matrix for systems and subsystems.Track and report product progress to ensure timely delivery.Essential SkillsSystem Architecture ExperienceMechanical OR electrical Engineering experience and educationExperience with Back end V cycle - i.e. testing, implementation, taking a product to production, speaking to suppliersWork Environment
This position offers mostly remote work with occasional visits to Ottawa as needed. The role involves working under team leadership at the customer site, with a standard 40-hour work week. A laptop will be provided to facilitate your work.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $72.00/hr.
