Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Long Beach, California. This role is within the local government sector and will require a mix of remote and on-site work. The Systems Engineer will play a critical role in managing virtualized environments, overseeing backup and disaster recovery, and supporting NOC operations. Responsibilities: • Administer Windows Systems including Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy • Manage and troubleshoot virtualized environments, including VMware, Cisco UCS, and Pure Storage SANs • Oversee backup and disaster recovery operations, specifically with Veeam Backup and Recovery • Handle patch management for Windows, Linux, and applications • Administer security and email systems, including Mimecast, Exchange, and M365/O365 • Collaborate on infrastructure projects and business application rollouts • Support NOC operations and resolve escalated issues • Utilize PowerShell Scripting and Automation for efficient system management • Monitor systems with tools like SCOM and SCCM • Leverage MDM tools such as Intune and Kandji for device management. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems engineer role or similar within the local government industry • Proficiency in Cisco Technologies, with the ability to design, set up, and manage these systems • Experience with Citrix Technologies, including the ability to implement, troubleshoot, and maintain these systems • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies, with the ability to support and manage cloud-based solutions • Familiarity with DELL EMC Technologies and Dell Technologies, with the ability to optimize these systems for local government use • Proficiency in AB Testing methodologies, with the ability to design and execute tests to improve system performance • Experience with Active Directory, including the ability to manage and secure user access • Strong understanding of Automation processes, with the ability to automate repetitive tasks and improve system efficiency • Knowledge of AWS Technologies, with the ability to manage and support AWS-based systems • Familiarity with Backup Technologies, with the ability to implement and manage backup solutions, ensuring data security and recovery.
