What you will be doing

You will be joining CIBC’s US Infrastructure Operations team. This role requires extensive familiarity with Windows servers and frequently involves user support tasks. Expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access is required. This role also encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel and administer telemetry platform ensuring its smooth operation and optimal performance. You will be responsible for running day-to-day operations , handling tickets, responding to incidents and interfacing with various line of business and stakeholders. You administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, VMware technologies and Azure resources and Install/ Configure Windows Servers and provide support to individual users to ensure that the system works reliably and quickly. In addition to this, you manage server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX and provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators. The Systems Engineers also work closely with other IT departments and vendors to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server performance and access and perform System Maintenance activities like review backups, error logs and user-reported errors and identify stable and reliable solutions. In addition to this monitoring performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes, developing and deploying initiative-taking solutions and setup alerts to ensure system usability across the organization, implementing and configuring Dynatrace's Application Performance Monitoring, plus monitoring solution across various environments, including setting up dashboards, alerts, and reports for monitoring application performance are some responsibilities.

Troubleshooting and Technical Skills - Work closely with key business and technology partners to ensure that business and client impact issues are well understood and addressed. Ensure all infrastructure management aspects maintain adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies.

Relationship Management - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.

Who you are

You demonstrate 6+ years of experience in Windows/Linux administration with 2 years in Azure. In addition to this, experience in telemetry tools like Dynatrace with an ability to build up application metrics/dashboards is required. You must also have a deep experience with Windows servers (2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, Azure, managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX, Group Policy design, configuration Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration. Knowledge in Application Insights, service principal in Azure, NSG rule, Azure Key vault is ideal.

You must have an ability to administer Telemetry platform (Dynatrace) ensuring its smooth operation and optimal performance.  Setup Event Management, Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting. You have knowledge to maintain system security by noticing faults and vulnerabilities within the server’s architecture and provide troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.

Strong critical thinking skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance and stellar communication/ documentation skills are required

You are certified Professional: Azure Certification is preferred.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $110,000- $120,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
