Job Title: Systems Design Engineer
Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Systems Design Engineer, where you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge ground surveillance radars. These radars are crucial in detecting and tracking multiple threats simultaneously at considerable distances. Your role will involve working on high-performance radar systems, aiming to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the engineering team, and collaborating closely with the production team.

ResponsibilitiesDefine radar systems requirements and specifications.Design, develop, and specify radar systems architecture to meet requirements, including RF subsystems and signal processing chains.Develop algorithms for radar processing such as direction-of-arrival, calibration, and beamforming.Perform system modeling and simulations to evaluate performance.Lead system integration, verification, and validation efforts.Prepare control documents, configurations, test plans, reports, and installation drawings.Develop and present technical papers to support development and business development.Work with production to assist in problem resolution.Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper implementation of design.Support system and cross-functional projects as needed.Provide leadership to the design team and execute trade studies.Evaluate designs against customer and internal requirements and brief stakeholders.Essential SkillsProven track record in systems engineering and design.Experience with RF systems and signal processing.Proficiency in Matlab and either C++ or Python.10+ years of experience working with complex hardware and software components.Bilingual - French and English.Additional Skills & QualificationsEligibility for Controlled Goods Program (CGD).Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.Strong communication and organizational skills.Leadership capabilities.Work Environment

Our Laval location employs a close-knit team of 14 engineering professionals, contributing to a global workforce of over 2,000 employees. This role is not confined to a typical desk job; you will have opportunities to work in a lab and conduct outdoor radar tests. We operate in a hybrid mode, with four days a week in the office, offering a flexible schedule. Our team is composed of industry experts providing training on complex radars, and there are ample opportunities for growth within the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
