Responsibilities Arcfield is seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage and execute network, hardware, and software system administration activities for systems supporting product lifecycle engineering efforts. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance are mandatory. Responsibilities include: Apply strong leadership, organizational, and communications skills to ensure continuous network and systems functionality and security. Maintain a strong working knowledge of government requirements associated with maintenance of network environments and system components. Establish and monitor a schedule of required system administration events to ensure all systems remain up-to-date. For example, application of software patches, firmware updates, PKI certificate continuity, backup/restore functionality, audit management, and software license continuity. Work on-site at the Arcfield office in Rome, NY during core business hours (8:00 – 5:00, M-F). Occasional schedule modification will be required to support after-hours updates necessary to limit impact to system users during core working hours. Monitor Help Desk tickets submitted by system users to ensure timely resolution of submitted issues. Establish and maintain documentation which describes all components of the system environment. Recommend system environment changes to increase usability, efficiency, up-time, or security. If appropriate, specify required hardware/software components and coordinate purchase processes. Upon approval, implement defined changes. Coordinate with program management and technical leads through a Configuration Approval Board (CAB) process any significant changes to the system environment prior to execution of change. No travel for this position is anticipated. Qualifications Qualifications include: BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2, or equivalent skills gained through on-the-job experience Must possess an active Secret clearance US Citizenship. Exceptional organizational skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Strong analysis, evaluation, and judgment skills (critical thinking). There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
