Systems Administrator
Description We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will primarily focus on network and systems administration, but also handle escalated service desk issues. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and is an integral part of our team. Responsibilities: • Administer and manage the existing Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring smooth operation. • Enhance the security posture of the system by applying basic security concepts. • Perform system scans prior to deployment to ensure there are no open ports. • Ensure that antivirus and security protocols are in place for end-user devices. • Troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and routers. • Manage and support desktop environments using Service Desk Plus and EndPoint. • Act as an escalation point for level 2-3 tickets, providing advanced support and resolution for complex issues. • Handle small-scale implementations and execute projects effectively. • Provide support for external remote users using virtual tools and systems. • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or a similar role within the Credit Union industry. • Proficiency in Cloud Technologies, Active Directory, MS Office 365, and Windows Azure is expected. • Proven experience in Server Administration, System Hardening, and Computer Security is crucial. • Demonstrable skills in Firewall Administration, Firewall Configuration, and Firewall deployment are essential. • Familiarity with Router Switches and Endpoint Security is required. • Experience in Service Desk Environment and Service Desk Management is necessary. • Knowledge of ITIL Processes, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Server, Server upgrades, and Server Virtualization is a must. • Expertise in Windows Server 2019 is required. • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. • Relevant certifications in IT and Systems Administration will be an added advantage. • Applicants must be authorized to work in the specified location. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards. • Must possess excellent skills in managing and improving IT systems in a financial context.
