Systems Administrator
Imagine One Technology & Management, Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a United States Marine Corps (USMC) effort within Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in North Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in supporting Department of Defense (DoD) networking and infrastructure efforts, both physical and virtual, to include applying design best practices, and ensuring redundancy, security, scalability, and high availability across all infrastructure components. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise environment in alignment with DoD compliance standards. Also responsible for implementing and supporting infrastructure design best practices across compute, storage, and networking layers, while ensuring adherence to DoD cybersecurity requirements, such as STIGs, RMF, and NIST controls. Configuring and maintaining physical servers and virtualized environments, ensuring system redundancy, disaster recovery readiness, and high availability of services, as well as patch management and continuous monitoring to mitigate risk and ensure system integrity. Collaboration with cybersecurity, engineering, testing, integration, and mission support teams is essential to ensure all infrastructure components meet both operational and compliance requirements across both classified and unclassified environments Qualifying candidates must meet or exceed the following requirements: Experience: + Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience supporting C4ISR engineering, software development and integration programs, or similar USMC / Navy efforts, to include: + Set up, configuration, installation and integration of network devices to include routers, switches, hubs, servers, and PCs + Ensuring environmental security compliance, monitoring the operational status of servers and network components, and remedying performance degradation or system and service failures + Maintaining project-specific Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) tools, operations, environments, and infrastructure + Providing architecture services for multiple users, performing regular cybersecurity remediation and maintenance, and managing datacenter and full-stack support + Supporting the rollout of new tools and features, training development, ongoing monitoring and optimization of new implementations + Analyze information system usage, data flows, required ports and protocols for proper interfacing between systems and servers + Design, development, test and evaluation, LAN administration fundamentals, network protocols, UNIX and Windows-based operating systems + Experience using the following platforms, software, applications, etc.: + VMware ESX/ESXi, vCenter, vSphere + PowerShell, VBScript, Bash + MS Windows (All Versions), Windows Server, RedHat Linux + Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) + Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange + Podman, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc. + Relevant technical experience in support of Marine Corps tactical data systems such as Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Army Data Dissemination Service (DDS), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Combat Operations Center (COC), Global Command and Control System (GCCS), Joint Tactical Common Operational Picture (COP) Workstation (JTCW), Tactical COP Server (TCS), or other relevant tactical systems is desired + Experience developing and documenting processes within an Agile / SAFe environment + Experience providing analytical and technical support to projects involving tactical/operational documentation, military systems design, scenario development and/or other efforts requiring military operations expertise Skills, Training, and Education: + Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university preferred + Candidates without a bachelor’s degree can substitute the degree requirement with an additional three (3) years of the required experience, creating a total of a minimum of six (6) years of experience + Desired certifications: + Agile / Scrum / SAFe certification(s) + Completed or working towards completing the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) OR A Red Hat® Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), AND a certification in that meets the requirements for IAT level 2 (i.e., Security + CISSP) + Working towards completing the following certifications: Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM) / Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) + Vendor/platform-specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP), Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), etc.) Additional Requirements: + Experience in technical specifications development, process analysis and design, technical problem solving, and analytical/logical thinking + Proficient with Microsoft Office products + Highly proficient with SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Intelink, Naval LIFT, IBM Rational Tools (Jazz), or similar products + High-level attention to detail and the ability to track various projects, tasks, schedules, and competing priorities + Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment + Proven leadership ability as well as strong decision-making skills + Process-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills + Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills Security Requirements: + U.S. Citizen + Currently hold an ACTIVESECRET clearance Additional Information: + This is not a remote position.
