Summary
The role will function as a liaison and operational leader for neurosciences across the system. Overall responsibilities will be to assist in coordinating and standardizing the neurosciences clinical system of care across the Baptist footprint. This position has primary responsibilities for System Stroke and System Neurodiagnostics, along with other responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
1)Maintain system-level policies and procedures for neurosciences operations.
2)Make recommendations for evidence-based standards and protocols to be deployed system-wide.
3)Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all hospital leaders, physicians, and other key stakeholders.
4)Provide clinical insight and leadership into all patient education, staff education and marketing collateral for the Neurosciences service line.
System Stroke
1)The system director will be responsible for setting the agenda and leading the System Stroke Meeting in collaboration with the System Administrator for Neurosciences.
2)Responsible for coordination of Stroke Order Set Consensus Team. Individual will be responsible for setting the agenda and leading team meetings. All findings and recommendations will be reported to the appropriate committees and leadership for approval.
3)The system director will serve as a clinical resource for hospitals that are currently accredited by the Joint Commission or are considering accreditation. This includes all Comprehensive, Primary and Acute-Care Ready Hospitals.
4)Provide clinical support to the system administrator around stroke and stroke-related diagnoses.
5)Meet with the stroke coordinator at each hospital at least twice annually to provide support, education, and leadership for each facility.
6)Make recommendations for participation in community events across the system.
7)Identify and collaborate on new revenue and cost-savings opportunities across the system as they relate specifically to stroke care. Lead and manage these efforts as directed by the System Administrator.
System Neurodiagnostics
1)The system director will be responsible for setting the agenda and leading the System Neurodiagnostics Team meeting in collaboration with the System Administrator for Neurosciences.
2)Identify hospitals ready to apply for accreditation with ABRET and guide them through the processes.
3)Make recommendations, plan, organize, implement and coordinate technical services for system.
4)Monitor operations to ensure evidence-based standards are met in each lab across the system.
5)Develop and coordinate training and education for technical staff.
6)Recommend productivity standards for staff working in Neurodiagnostics.
7)Monitor equipment system-wide and make recommendations for new and replacement technology.
8)Coordinate a system focused on exceptional patient care, minimum turnaround time for results and seamless retrieval of new and archived studies.
9)Works closely with Neuroscience staff at all locations and ensures good working relationships between all departments and divisions.
10)Investigate and monitor trends and clinical developments within the field; introduce new procedures.
11)Develop and recommend procedures to improve operational efficiency and quality of service.
12)Work closely with the BOC team to make certain that images and reports are available at all locations.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Experience:
5 years of clinical neurosciences experience required.
5 years of prior management experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience in leading teams through a matrix model.
Direct experience in building consensus among various departments and leaders.
Experience with physician relations and various communication styles.
Education:
BSN, RN licensure required.
Graduate degree preferred (MSN, MHA, MBA)
