System Dynamics Integrator/Designer

The department Optics and Dynamics within Mechatronics & Measurements System Cluster supports end-to-end mechatronic design of all optical components in our EUV systems. This includes the dynamics system model and the design of all mechatronic control loops. responsible for specification, design, integration and qualification of the mechatronics sub-systems, functions and components which are fitted into the end products.
 

Roles and Responsibilities

You will contribute to, and take responsibility for, the design, integration and qualification of the mechatronics architecture or function of a module, while having a strong focus on dynamic architecture. Your role embodies specification, design, integration, test planning and test execution, with the emphasis on dynamics, functional performance, signal analysis, functional integration and troubleshooting.

Work in multidisciplinary project teams part of System Dynamics Agile Release Train.Build up and maintain specialist knowledge in the fields of dynamics, servo control, signal analysis and testing and basic knowledge of the areas software, mechanics, optics, electronics, actuators, sensors and dynamics.Modeling and optimizing of sequences, functional and dynamic behavior.  Integration and test of the mechatronic modules: planning and execution. Provide test rig, proto, pilot, standby and integration support in case of escalations.Support of the mechatronics architecture design and trade-offs between mechanical, electronic, software competencies.Interface towards other projects and sectors.Documentation of specifications, design, and test results.
 

Education and Experience

Technical university Masters or PhD in mechanical engineering. Preferably with a specialization in control and dynamics.You have 1- 2 years of work experience, preferably within the high tech industry.You have a solid basis in mechanics with good feeling for structural dynamics, mechatronics, electronics and software and measurement systems is required.You have experience with a focus on modelling (FEM, multiphysics, multibody) and measurement of dynamic system behavior (modal analysis, vibration analysis).You are skilled in Matlab and Matlab Simulink.

Other information

Escalations at customers are handled mostly from Veldhoven, however travel about once a year is possible. In case the specifications are not met, problem identification, root-cause analysis, containment, risk assessment towards other machines and redesign of the functionality are needed. 

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
