Summary C2 ALAKSA, LLC Albany, GA The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the system architecture to ensure sufficient capacity and availability; allocating file systems on client and application servers; reallocating storage space across physical file systems;. Participating in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of storage capacities to include or create all required documentation; having the knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF). Additionally, support the following operating systems and network components including, but not limited to; Oracle Olaris, Microsoft Internet Information Services, Azure, Linux Web Services and Web Development Software. Responsibilities Install and upgrade network monitoring tools, software, and agents. Monitor network performance, where applicable and make recommendations to maintain configuration to improve performance. Complete documentation in support of ensuring network connectivity. Provide recommendations to Federal Government support staff in network design, implementation, and sustainment for legacy systems. Integrate web services, operating systems, application software, DBMS(s), business applications, monitor agents, risk mitigation agents, backup/recovery agents, network devices and storage devices. Perform all levels of analysis (simple to complex) of operating systems, business applications, monitoring agents, risk mitigation agents, backup/recovery agents, network devices and storage devices as well as assisting and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) and special projects. Interpret error codes generated by log and system files from DBMS(s), operating systems, business applications, monitoring agents, risk mitigation agents, backup/recovery agents, network devices and storage devices. Recommend and implement hardware, software, database, or network solutions to resolve problems. Evaluate hardware or network devices and consistently implement a permanent resolution. Analyze file systems and storage zones to resolve issues. Create/Maintain/Update/Close incidents to coordinate incident resolution with the MARCORLOGCOM G6 or MDMC Service Desks via a Service Desk or Project Management solution such as Altiris or "Remedy". Provide knowledge and expertise of the following Operating Systems, Web Platforms and Hardware including, but not limited to: Microsoft Windows Server Oracle Fusion Middleware Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Linux Web Services Azure Web Development Software (JAYA, ASP.NET) Network Attached Storage (NAS) Storage Area Network (SAN) Change available storage to ensure maximum limits are not exceeded. Plan and execute storage implementation plans to support production environments to include associated drawings. Engineer and implement solutions to resolve storage issues or support available storage requirements, prior to occurrence. Effectively manage available storage. Recover lost data efficiently. Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures to assist in effectively managing storage. Have knowledge and familiarity of LUN(s), file systems, disks, zones, and other storage medial on various storage devices in a RAID. Participate in the planning, implementation and monitoring of project plans and special projects to include preparing information assurance documentation. Review and improve existing systems, making use of new technologies and methodologies to seek continual improvement for existing systems as well as assisting and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP). Provide high-level guidance and direction on project work, making sure that new projects fit in with an overall strategic vision. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree Minimum of three (3) years experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access. Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification to fulfill IAT Level II Certification. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Self-starter in learning new systems or software fielded to all areas on the contract. Ability to train users in a semi-formal setting on changes to software or hardware. Knowledge of computer hardware, how to troubleshoot basic hardware failures, and familiarity of managing military supply assets desirable. Knowledge and familiarity of LUN(s), file systems, disks, zones, and other storage medial on various storage devices in a RAID.
