Our team is looking for a System Administrator. In this role you will organize, install, and support government organization’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. The Network / System Administrator will help to architect, design and analyze network models. Requires participation in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade organization’s infrastructure. Provides technical support to computer users to help solve users’ problems. This position will support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide “day-to-day” support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.
Required Skills:
Provides Tier 1 (Service Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.Experience in managing system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverabilityTroubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problemsTroubleshoots and resolves network issues to include performance, hardware, firmware, and cabling.Identify and create automated solutions for systems using scripting languages such as Windows PowerShell, and Unix Shell for troubleshooting and routine tasksImplements and manages both Windows and Linux systems, applications, security, and network configurations.Works with Cybersecurity Personnel to establishes a Disaster Recovery (DR) / Business Continuity PlansResearches and recommends upgrades, patches, new applications, equipment, and tool sets that enhance the systems capabilitiesProvides technical support and guidance to all usersRelies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goalsStrong ability to produce and maintain varied technical documentationDevelop and document system administration standard operating proceduresManage system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverabilityWork as part of a security incident response team as neededFollow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Experience with Toolkits such as: SEIMs (Logrhythm), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) / Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Mandatory Access Control (MAC) / Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) concepts (e. g. SE Linux extensions to RHEL, PitBull, AppArmor, and Sentris), video teleconferencing/ Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Oracle/MS SQL database securityTechnical competency in one or more of the following supported platforms: MS Hyper-V/VMWare/ESXi/Xen Hypervisors, Enterprise networking and firewall systems, Group Policy configuration, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server, Internet Information Service (IIS), Windows Server 2019/2022, and Windows 10/11100% onsite is required in Colorado Springs, COMust have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant Engineering field from an accredited university with minimum 8 years of experienceTop Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Secret Compartmented Information (SCI)Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph to achieve SAP security Clearance within 6 months of hirePossess a DoD 8140.03/8570.01 Information Assurance Technical II certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire: Cisco Certified Network Associate-Security (CCNA-Security), Cybersecurity Analyst Plus (CySA+), Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), CompTIA Security+ (Security+), Certified Network Defender (CND), or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partnersWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Desired Skills:
