We are looking for dynamic and engaging teachers to deliver our programs on Archdiocese school campuses in the LA area.

As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are: Just Teaching. No Lesson Plans. No Preparation.

We offer competitive compensation with rates ranging from $23-$25/hour. ADDITIONAL $10 travel stipend is provided PER DAY that travel is made to a school site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervise, interact with, and motivate students in the classroom.

Reward students for completed assignments to help build their confidence.

Evaluate and document student progress to help track their growth.

Communicate student needs to the center director to ensure individual learning plans.

Inspire and develop a rapport with students to help them reach their full potential.

Establish a fun learning environment that fosters creativity and confidence. Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan to inspire students.

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

We are seeking candidates with: 

2 years of experience teaching or tutoring on a school campus is required State or provincial teaching credentials preferred Ability to teach general math through pre-algebra A fun and enthusiastic teaching style, ability to motivate students, and positive attitude
