This position is temporary work during the summer season only, located at one of Boise Parks and Recreation's outdoor facilities. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Essential Functions Coaches individual swimmers on various styles and racing techniques. Makes recommendations to swim team head coach for swimmers' needs, meet entries, or other duties. Attends all swim meets including Championship meet. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Level of Knowledge: + Knowledge of competitive swimming skills and techniques. Abilities: + Ability to work evenings and weekends; + interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner; + display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public, and other organizations; + communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; + complete assignments in a timely fashion; + understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations; + maintain prompt and regular attendance; + perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor, and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training + One year of experience coaching a swim program + Current Lifeguard Certification. + American Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certification.
