Sweeterie Confectionary Specialist

Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Sweeterie Confectionary Specialist is responsible for assisting with the execution of our house-made fudge program. Confectionary Specialists play a key role in helping meet departmental goals and providing guests with the optimal shopping experience specifically in regard to our fudge offerings.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Assist with the execution of our house-made fudge program, including training fellow Sweeterie Team Members on fudge making procedures

Sell merchandise to guests by carefully handling Sweeterie bakery items, following proper boxing procedures, and efficiently entering transactions into register

Engage actively with guests in order to provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience, especially in regard to fudge offerings

Assist guests with any questions about Sweeterie products they may have including explaining item ingredients, as well as allergens, upon guests' requests

Communicate with pastry kitchen staff to restock Sweeterie items as needed

Maintain cleanliness throughout the store by cleaning, sanitizing, and sweeping/mopping work areas including food preparation areas, food contact surfaces, guest facing areas, and all floors and walkways

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Post-Employment - Must be able to obtain the ServSafe Food Safety Training Certification in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Department

Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests

Job Demands:

Ability to work a flexible schedule including, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays 

Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week, Memorial Day through Labor Day

Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to five hours at a time), walk, bend at the waist and knees, and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level and lift up to sixty (60)  pounds without assistance

May come in contact with food allergens including, but not limited to, nuts, gluten, dairy, etc.
