Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

This role is responsible for managing the key risks impacting China Global Private Banking Wealth (GPBW) business, activities including
- cross taxonomy Non-Financial Risk oversight on key risk themes
- managing risk related to Pan WPB structure and business integration risk
- continuous GPBW business control environment assessment and review
- regulatory and audit reviewing and oversee

Impact on the Business

GPBW oversight
1) Collaborate with Second Line of Defense to understand risk position and form a holistic view of GPBW risk profile
2) Work with Second Line of Defense to oversee key business process, identify potential risk issues and drive remediation action

Emerging risk management
1) Manage risk related to GPBW business growth
2) Manage integration risk for related projects

Meeting / forum management
1) Meet with internal Second Line of Defense and First Line of Defense control team to review key risk issues and push for remediation
2) Meet with cross entities for experience and best practice sharing

- University degree in a relevant discipline

- At least 15 years' relevant working experience in risk management area

- In depth knowledge of GPBW business with a good understanding of risk management framework

- Good understanding of HSBC's overall business dynamics, particularly GPBW

- Broad knowledge of sector trends and regulatory environment

- Understanding Risk and making decisions in highly complex situations where there are potentially major consequences for the business.

- Highly motivated mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively with various internal/external stakeholders to deliver assignments on time

- Planning, organisation skills, negotiation skills, ability to influence people and effective communication

- Expertise in project management and good interpersonal skills
