SVP Chief Financial Officer

What you'll do The purpose of this position is to provide the vision, leadership, planning, consultation, and stewardship of the BHN operations with responsibility for the continuous development and implementation of strategies to increase financial and operational efficiencies with no compromise to quality of care while producing profitable operations. The position reports to the President and CEO of Bassett Healthcare Network (BHN) and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. The individual selected will partner with the President and CEO in evaluating strategic decisions and providing advice and counsel, based on experience and sound financial analysis. The SVP/CFO will also work closely with the Network’s Chief Clinical/Academic Officer to ensure adequate resources are available to improve access, safety and quality care for the benefit of patients. In addition, the SVP/CFO will play a key role in communicating with the various affiliate Boards and the BHN Finance Committee by providing the highest level of financial transparency. The SVP/CFO is responsible for the following areas: financial operations; accounting; treasury management; revenue cycle; payer contracting; budgeting; payroll, practitioners compensation programs, financial and capital planning, cash flow management; supply chain; financing and bank relations; and the lead executive for the Optum partnership and other selected outsourcing arrangements. Upon joining BHN the SVP/CFO should complete an assessment of the organization’s financial position, the technology systems/ infrastructure, and staff supporting the Financial Division, with the goal of finding opportunities to strengthen financial operations across the network. BHN seeks a hands on, operational leader able to proactively identify opportunities for cost containment and revenue generation and to drive these changes across the Network, in a thoughtful and collaborative manner and maintain the integrity of the financial reports. Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the planning and integration of financial services activities across BHN including such things as financial planning and analysis, the monthly financial close and internal/external reporting, accounting policies and procedures, merger and acquisition financial assessment, capital allocation, reimbursement, supply chain, payer contracting Responsible for ensuring systems and controls are operating as intended to provide timely and accurate, financial and other information to BHN leadership to minimize risk and optimize System financial performance. This includes a strong focus upon assessing and analyzing financial performance information related to such things as expense management, productivity and compensation, acquisition due diligence and an overall and general awareness and analysis of the various components of profitability Responsible for developing a standardized, timely, accurate and fully integrated monthly financial statement package for the BHN Board of Directors Responsible for accurate budget variance analysis and responsible for the oversight of the annual BHN financial audit Effectively partner and participate with the executive leadership team in the decision-making process regarding development of objectives, strategies, and tactics for operations in support of strategic and annual operating plan objectives Key role in presenting to BHN executive leadership and Board of Directors, relevant financial and operational presentations and updates. Ensures all internal accounting procedures and policies are sound and in compliance with GAAP rules and regulations Provides oversight of direct reports as well as system level Financial Reporting, Accounting & Budgets, Treasury, Supply Chain, and Payer Contracting Coaches team members and initiates personnel actions in accordance with human resources policies and organization philosophy Acts as senior level advisor on operational issues to other executives and all level of caregivers throughout the organization Develops workforce strategies in collaboration with the BHN CPDO to ensure appropriate health care teams are in place to deliver effective and efficient patient care Leads the identification, development and implementation of operational strategies to achieve BHN business objectives Responsible for the development of objectives, strategies, and tactics for operations in support of strategic and annual operating plan (SOP & AOP) objectives Accountable to monitor accomplishment of BHN objectives as defined in SOP/AOP. Institutes corrective actions including reallocating resources, reprioritizing, and/or recommending modifications to established plans What we need from you Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree of Science/Arts in Accounting, Finance or related business field, required Master's Degree MBA or MHA, preferred Experience: 10 year progressively responsible finance/accounting experience within an integrated health system or similarly complex healthcare provider setting, required 5 year financial leadership experience in an integrated delivery health system, required Licensure/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant, preferred Skills: Decision Making Accounting Accuracy Analysis & Evaluation Attention to Detail Budgeting Auditing Communication Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $350,000.00/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $550,000.00/Yr.
