Sustainment Services Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for organizing, coordinating, directing, and overseeing food and beverage operations, visiting quarters, temporary lodging facilities, fitness and sports operations and related support contracts. Responsibilities ****Duties may vary depending on grade level**** Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for Sustainment Services programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Appointments are on a time-limited basis, Temporary or Term. Initial Term appointments will not exceed 2 years with the ability to extend for two additional terms (not to exceed 2 years for each extension) NTE a total of 6 years. Spouses must accompany sponsor on PCS orders, be in the local commuting area, and currently reside with the sponsor. GS-06 - Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage operations, lodging, fitness, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. OR Education: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work f the position; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field and am claiming Superior Academic Achievement. Note: You must submit a copy of transcripts OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. OR Education: Successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate or master's degree that is directly related to the work of the position. Examples of specialized experience Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage operations, lodging, fitness, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in a major directly related to the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: combination of specialized experience and education as described above. GS-10: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). My experience includes using Using knowledge of standardized purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures, and solicitation and purchasing methods to make purchases under established contracts and standardized specifications or statements of work and to interact with vendors GS-11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage operations, lodging, fitness, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official transcripts OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have a combination of specialized experience and education as described above. GS-12 and GS-13: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage operations, lodging, fitness, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of business operations policies, procedures, methods, and publicity techniques within one or more of the following areas: hospitality, food and beverage operations, lodging, fitness, and developing contracts to support business operations; and/or community wide event planning to evaluate strengths or weaknesses and develop/revise programs to meet goals and promote patronage. 2. Knowledge of financial, budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques. 3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices and procedures. 4. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installation objectives. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
