The Business group Canon Imaging Supplies is responsible for Canon’s paper and print media business in Europe.
For our Imaging Supplies (IS) Division, Canon Europa NV is looking for a Sustainability Specialist to shape, develop and drive the Imaging Supplies division strategy, tactics and goals. In this role you develop, implement, manage and maintain IS Environmental Management Systems (EMS), related work processes and certificates and reporting. As a subject matter expert you represent IS to stakeholders, including NSOs (National Sales Organizations), key customers, internal and external Sustainability partners and certification bodies.

Your daily tasks and responsibilities include
Imaging supplies Sustainability strategy
Shape, develop & drive the IS Sustainability strategy, tactics & goals and present to to MT IS.Ensure the business unit’s procurement activities align with Canon sustainability policiesManage initiatives and collaborate internally/externally to support Canon and its customers to achieve carbon net-zero goalsEnvironmental Management System
Develop, implement, manage and maintain IS EMS, related work processes and certificates.Leading central office for FSC & PEFC multi-site certification, internal & external audits and management system.Includes responsibility for EMS compliance & reporting:Audits (e.g. FSC, PEFC).Environmental credentials on product packaging.Translate legal requirements into IS offering & secure implementation in operations.Content of IS sustainability communication.Take care of embedding of Canon’s Sustainable Procurement policy.Validate and maintain product related safety documents (e.g. fire retardancy).Act as Subject matter expert:
Stakeholder & relationship management to relevant sustainability partners (e.g. Climate Partner, certification bodies etc.).Advise NSOs in sales cycles.Develop sustainability approach and processes with lead customers, e.g. Amazon.Key spokesperson externally (e.g. towards suppliers such as Paper Mills), and internally (e.g. CEL), on environmental topics.Train & coach colleagues, including NSOs, on IS Sustainability proposition and developments.Create and deliver input for (external) communication. What we ask
For this role, you will have:
Bachelor degree.Understanding of environmental science and climate change related developments.Preferable experience with paper or print related environmental topics (FSC, EUDR, CO2 etc.).Minimum of 5 years work experience in Sustainability work field. Ability to convert/translate environmental regulations, market trends & developments into business requirements to support Product Management, Business Development, Marketing Communications.Capable to make proposals/solutions to support required implementation in business application systems.Experience in Supporting/providing training for central & local business departments.Feeling comfortable raising awareness and influencing stakeholders, presenting to and convincing others of your ideas and guidance.Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch You will needIn this role Canon has defined the competencies: Apply Business Acumen, Communicate Effectively, Drive for Results, Focus on the Customer and Plan & Organize effectively.
