As a **Sustainability Program Manager** you collaborate with internal and external partners to develop solutions that fulfill Valvoline’s corporate citizenship responsibilities to stakeholders in alignment with Valvoline’s core values and business objectives.
**How You’ll Make an Impact**
+ Responsible for the management and coordination of global internal efforts and external engagements related to Valvoline’s environmental, social, and governance programs, more specifically the design, development, and execution of programs that serve to:
+ Attract, engage, and retain Valvoline team members.
+ Build Valvoline’s brand reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.
+ Cultivate, retain, and strengthen relationships with Valvoline’s business customers and partners.
+ Advance ESG Goals and Objectives in partnership with the ESG SMEs of Valvoline
+ Oversees the design and development of frameworks including policies, processes, and programs with a special focus on Social Responsibility.
+ Ensure alignment with Valvoline’s core values and business objectives, addressing the needs of internal and external stakeholders, including employees and prospective employees, customers, business partners, and the communities where Valvoline operates and where Valvoline products are used.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to set strategic direction and objectives, encourage program adoption, conduct analyses comparing internal programs versus external benchmarks, collect, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, define goals and objectives, and develop execution plans and timelines, and collaborate with subject matter experts to close gaps and enable continuous improvement.
+ Serve as a Valvoline ESG liaison between Aramco, Aramco Oversees Company (AOC), AOC Affiliates, and customer stakeholder.
+ Serve as a project manager for the ESG SME Committee, coordinating team efforts and ensuring work is delivered on time and with the highest quality; Efforts may include project scoping and definition, developing and overseeing project timelines, facilitating cross-department communication, risk identification and management, quality assurance, budget management, and documentation.
+ Lead efforts to respond to third-party requests (e.g., RFPs, award applications, media inquiries, analyst engagements) for information about Valvoline’s ESG programs.
+ Pursue third-party recognition and validation for Valvoline’s ESG claims through certifications, rankings, awards, and media engagements.
+ Forecast and manage the budget for shared/enterprise wide ESG initiatives.
+ Support the development of Valvoline Global’s ESG brand, with a special focus on social elements, in collaboration with the brand equity team and with input from internal and external stakeholders.
+ Assure key stakeholders (e.g., business partners, current and prospective team members, consumers/customers, analysts, and community partners (NGOs and governmental)) that Valvoline is a force for good through consistent internal and external communication on ESG goals and performance.
+ Conduct competitive analyses and use third-party feedback (e.g., award application outcomes, rankings) to identify opportunities to grow and enhance Valvoline’s ESG programs.
+ Supports the identification of key carbon Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission and evaluates opportunities for credit offsets and power purchase agreements to support reductions in net CO2 emissions reported to stakeholders. Candidate will have the skillset to pareto key carbon intensity reduction opportunities via manufacturing operations (boilers, pumps, etc.) and evaluate fleet contributions, and evaluate areas where reductions are possible and most impactful and carbon credits or low intensity sources may be leveraged to achieve desired CO2 targets.
+ Lead and facilitate the complete Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for finished products in the VGO portfolio. This involves using LCA software to determine the carbon impact for VGO products.
+ Work closely with engineering and operations to prioritize capital expenditures to reduce our operations and fleet global footprint. This will include identification of specific energy reduction projects working with the Valvoline engineering / operations team and vendors to identify equipment upgrades related to operations equipment and fleet selection. Key equipment opportunities include but are not limited to:
+ Boilers, fluid pumps, HVAC, lighting, compressors, manufacturing equipment (fillers, palletizers / depalletizers, case packers, etc.), and vehicle and fleet selection
+ Work across the support function of the ESG SME Committee to ensure progress against ESG goals and objectives, coordinate / facilitate the internal ESG SME meetings and the ESG Valvoline Leadership Team level committee and support internal and external communication of ESG goals and objectives and achievements.
+ Organizing the agenda and meetings for both the ESG SME Committee and ESG Executive Committee.
+ Coordinate the various ESG questionnaires (CSRD, Eco Vadis, SAQ, Carbon Disclosure Project, Customer Surveys, etc.) to ensure an accurate and consistent response, and to determine what Valvoline must communicate and publish externally.
+ Work with Valvoline branding and marketing to develop the ESG stakeholder communication page, and determine relevant ESG updates for Town Halls, Valvoline Leadership Team meetings, and other internal communication to ensure Valvoline employees are aware of ESG activities and participation opportunities.
+ Manage ESG related document control and storage in Teams, SharePoint, and webpages.
+ Communications to all stakeholder groups from AOC, Affiliates, Valvoline Leadership Team, Valvoline employees, and external stakeholders (customers, prospective employees, and interested parties).
**What You’ll Need**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Math, Computer Science or equivalent
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in ESG Social programs, Environmental Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, and/or other ESG-related program management and communications including coordinating and managing efforts of multiple indirect teams and team members, experience gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, adhering to externally established reporting standards and best practices, and working with analysts and rating/ranking organizations.
+ Minimum of five years of experience in managing and analyzing large data sets, analyzing statistical techniques and software, and reporting data in a meaningful format.
+ Experience and proven track record of program management, effective communication and collaboration skills, and strong organizational skills.
+ Intermediate experience leading, facilitating and motivating teams for small projects
+ Intermediate understanding and experience working with business units in achieving their goals
+ Intermediate organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills required; ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
+ Intermediate experience solving problems and offering proactive, positive solutions
+ Intermediate verbal, written and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
+ Excellent organizational and project management skills
+ Excellent data storytelling (ability to create compelling narratives and tell stories through data visualization)
+ Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
+ Remote work and availability outside of standard local work hours required to collaborate with teams located in up to 30 countries and multiple times zones.
