Survey Field Coordinator

Job Description:

Overview:

The Field Coordinator is responsible for providing management oversight of field survey operations, including organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation for land development projects. This role ensures fieldwork is conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Survey Manager with planning, scheduling, and coordinating field crew assignments to meet project deadlines.

Collaborate with field crews to ensure efficient execution of survey tasks, providing guidance and direction as needed.

Review field data and drawings for completeness and accuracy before submission to the Professional Land Surveyor.

Prepare detailed drawings from field survey data, sketches, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Conduct fieldwork as required to support project needs.

Assist with deed research and abstract deeds, create base maps, process field crew data, and produce final drawings.

Process acquired field data into accurate plats of survey and/or Metes and Bounds descriptions.

Support the maintenance of field equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.

Monitor project progress, addressing challenges to keep projects on track and within budget.

Communicate effectively with team members, Survey Managers, and clients to ensure alignment on project objectives.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED certification.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a land surveying role.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; working knowledge of MicroStation is a plus.

Strong analytical skills to interpret and process survey data.

Ability to effectively lead and direct field crews to meet project goals.

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and stakeholders.

Must be dependable, reliable, and capable of working independently or in a team environment.
